Meeting Reservations
577 offers two historic spaces, the Library in Virginia’s House and the Cottage, to community organizations, schools, governmental organizations, and community-minded corporations for strategic planning, trainings, and retreats.
Types of Meetings & Events
The Library in Virginia’s House and the Cottage are available for strategic planning, trainings, and retreats for nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools, and corporate groups. Reservations are not transferable; i.e., the space reserved is only for the individual or group making the reservation.
Because these spaces are shared for educational and community benefit, they are not available to be used for personal social gatherings like parties, showers, reunions, or weddings. These spaces are not to be used for sales, commercial, or promotional purposes including fundraising events.
Virginia’s House ~ Library
The Library of Virginia’s House is a semi-private meeting space that can accommodate up to twenty-five people. This room offers a relaxed meeting space with comfortable furniture for ten people, plus a large table that seats ten people (with five additional chairs optional). A pull-down AV screen and a cart on which you may place your laptop and projector are available. Nearby restrooms are available for use. This building is wheelchair accessible with a ramp.

History
In 1935, Duane Stranahan and Virginia Secor Stranahan purchased the property and built the house they named Needmor, where Virginia lived until her death in 1997.
Virginia’s house now hosts dozens of classes for the community each month. The library/living room is also utilized as a semi-private meeting space that can accommodate up to twenty-five people. Most areas of the first floor are wheelchair accessible including the restrooms.

Library offers a relaxed meeting space with:
- Comfortable living room furniture seats up to 15 people
- Large table that seats 10 people (Optional: five additional chairs)
- Coffee station available for use (No Styrofoam)
- Parking Lot ~ close proximity
- Bathroom
- Accessible entrances
- Wifi and limited AV equipment available
- Space is heated and air-conditioned
The Library in Virginia’s House is not available to be used for personal social gatherings like parties or showers.

The Library in Virginia’s House is available for half-day rentals on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
- Nonprofits, Government Agencies, Schools: Half Day (4 hours): $200
- Corporate Groups: Half Day (4 hours): $450
The Kitchen, Dining Room, and Sunroom in Virginia’s House are now classroom spaces and are no longer available for meeting use.
Half-day rental: Building access may start at 8AM or 8:30AM. Building use ends four hours after building access time, 12:30PM at the latest.
The picnic area adjacent to the House is available to all visitors on a first-come, first- serve basis.
The Cottage
The Cottage is a cozy private meeting space for up to twelve people. It offers a meeting space around a large table, one bathroom, a kitchen, and one breakout room with comfortable furniture. This historic building is not currently wheelchair accessible due to a step up into the building and narrow doorways, as was typical for houses built circa 1914.

History
The Cottage was originally occupied by Col. George P. Greenhalgh, an artillery officer in WWI and his wife Marie, the niece of Edward Drummond Libby, around 1914. This cozy space now hosts classes and private meetings for up to twelve people.
This historic building is not currently wheelchair accessible due to a step up into the building and narrow doorways, as was typical for houses built circa 1914.

The Cottage’s features include:
- Two meeting spaces
- Historic Dining Room with two tables and 12 chairs
- Historic Living Room with two couches, two chairs, and a small table with three chairs
- Kitchen ~ includes a coffee station, fridge, stove, and a small table for light refreshments to catering (No styrofoam)
- Parking Lot ~ close proximity
- Bathroom
- Accessible entrances
- Wifi and limited AV equipment available
- Space is heated and air-conditioned
The Cottage is not available to be used for personal social gatherings like parties or showers.

The Cottage is available for half-day or full-day rentals on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
