We’re currently accepting applications for two staff positions, Properties Coordinator and Program Assistant, along with a paid Program Internship for Spring 2027. Each role offers a different way to contribute to 577’s mission and help create a welcoming place where the community can learn, create, explore, and connect.

Properties Coordinator | Full-Time
577 is seeking a dependable, hands-on Properties Coordinator to help care for our historic buildings, facilities, and grounds. Working closely with the Properties Manager, this position supports facility setup and turnover for classes and programs, cleaning and caretaking, preventative maintenance, grounds work, repairs, and the day-to-day needs of our spaces.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and enjoys hands-on work in a variety of settings. Experience with general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, custodial work, painting, and/or mowing is preferred.
This is a full-time, year-round position working 40 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, with some morning and evening availability required.

Program Assistant | Part-Time
Our Program Assistant helps support the classes, special programs, community outreach, and visitor experiences that happen throughout 577. This position works closely with staff, community instructors, volunteers, and visitors to help classes and programs run smoothly, assist with special events and outreach, and provide welcoming customer service throughout the organization. There are also opportunities to develop and teach classes at 577.
We’re looking for someone who is dependable, curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. This position works up to 24 hours per week with a flexible schedule based on classes, programs, and Welcome Center & Curiosity Shop needs. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Program Internship | Spring 2027
For college students looking for hands-on experience, 577 is also accepting applications for a paid Program Internship for Spring 2027.
The Program Intern will have the opportunity to experience many different sides of working at a mission-driven nonprofit, from supporting classes and events to welcoming visitors, assisting instructors, contributing to marketing and outreach, and helping with special programs.
There are also opportunities to help develop and teach classes, support StoryWalk® installations, participate in community outreach, create social media content, and work on projects connected to the intern’s interests and area of study.
The internship runs from January through May 2027, approximately 15 to 35 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends.
