October StoryWalk®: Yellow Time by Lauren Stringer

Autumn has arrived at 577. The trees are starting to show their colors, and a new story is waiting along the trail.

Yellow Time by Lauren Stringer captures that golden moment when the leaves shimmer, the wind begins to dance, and the world turns bright with color. This month’s StoryWalk® invites readers of all ages to slow down, look up, and celebrate the beauty of autumn all around us.

Follow the story page by page along the trail and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of fall. When the air turns crisp and the leaves start to flutter, it can only mean one thing—it’s Yellow Time.

StoryWalk®

StoryWalk® is a year-round trail around the circumference of the 577 grounds. There are 20 signposts along the trail, each featuring pages of a picture book. Stories rotate monthly and are carefully selected to feature award-winning authors and illustrators that celebrate the best of 577: nature, science, kindness, generosity, inclusivity, and belonging.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

The StoryWalk® at 577 was made possible through the generous support of the Black Swamp Conservancy, the estate of Mary Anne Tigges, and the Perrysburg Rotary Foundation and Rotarian volunteers, who funded and helped install the original trail and signage. In 2024, 577 received a grant from the Toledo Walleye Hockey Club’s Walleye Wishing Well Fund of the Greater Toledo Community Foundation to support the purchase of new books, updated signage, and continued care of this beloved program, helping ensure it remains fresh, engaging, and well-maintained for years to come.
