A Weekend of Greenery, Creativity, and Community at 577

Fall Houseplant Sale & Music in the Gardens Finale

The greenhouses at 577 are bursting with vibrant life, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Our Fall Houseplant Sale begins Friday, September 12, and will continue while supplies last in the Welcome Center & Curiosity Shop, open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm.

This year’s collection offers something for everyone—from small succulent pots and tabletop plants to larger statement pieces. Explore vining plants like pothos and peperomia, colorful begonias, easy-care cacti, striking ficus, and even a few one-of-a-kind treasures waiting to be discovered. Many of these plants are propagated right here at 577 from our thriving collections in the Geodesic Biodome and Virginia’s House, making them extra special.

Every purchase supports the 577 Growing Fund, which helps sustain our Community Garden programs and the landscape gardens enjoyed by visitors all year.

Make It a Saturday to Remember

This Saturday, September 13, from 11am to 4pm, turn your plant-shopping trip into a full day of inspiration and music. After picking out your new greenery, stay for the grand finale of Music in the Gardens, our beloved summer concert series. Live music will fill the air throughout the day as performers rotate between the Outdoor Stage near the Geodesic Dome and Virginia’s House. In case of rain, all performances will move indoors to Virginia’s House—so the music goes on, rain or shine.

Music Lineup

  • 11am–1pm: EZ Pickens – classic rock & country
  • 1pm–2pm: Clipboards – Perrysburg student/teacher cover band
  • 2pm–4pm: Chloe & the Steel Strings – folk favorites

Bring a blanket or chair, wander the gardens, and soak in the sounds of community, nature, and the changing season.

Create & Celebrate on International Dot Day

While the music plays, join a free Community Art Project inspired by The Dot.

Using paints and drawing materials, visitors of all ages can create their own unique “dots.” After the event, these works will be combined into a collaborative mural for display in the Welcome Center & Curiosity Shop—a joyful reminder that everyone is an artist.

Whether you’re hunting for the perfect houseplant, enjoying live music, or making your mark on a community art project, 577 is the place to be this weekend. Come for the greenery, stay for the music, and leave inspired.
