Are you passionate about education, the arts, and community engagement? We’re hiring two part-time Program Assistants to help bring our mission to life!
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with the coordination and execution of 577’s educational programs and special events
- Prepare classroom spaces, welcome participants, and support instructors
- Help develop and teach at least two classes per month based on your expertise and community interests
- Represent 577 at outreach events and support initiatives like Music in the Gardens, Earth Month activities, StoryWalk® installations, and guided tours
- Provide excellent visitor service, process class registrations, and assist in the Welcome Center & Curiosity Shop
- Perform opening and closing tasks, set up and reset spaces, and ensure a welcoming environment for all



Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for Program Assistants who thrive in a collaborative environment and love engaging with people of all ages. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with visitors, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Strong communication—both written and verbal—along with active listening skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are essential.
You should be a problem-solver who can assess situations, gather information, and make thoughtful decisions. A solid understanding of clerical and administrative tasks, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling or registration software, will help you stay organized. Since this role involves hands-on program support, you must be comfortable lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. A valid driver’s license is also required.
Experience in education, nonprofit work, customer service, or a related field is preferred. A background in art, environmental education, or hands-on learning experiences is a plus!
Hours & Pay: This part-time role offers up to 24 hours per week, with a schedule that includes some Saturdays and occasional evenings as needed. You’ll always have your schedule at least two weeks in advance, so you can plan ahead. Starting pay is $14.00 per hour
