Music in the Gardens ~ August 10

Aug 9, 2024 | Classes & Events

Join us for a delightful afternoon next Saturday, August 10, for Music in the Gardens! Let your worries melt away as you immerse yourself in the beautiful melodies drifting through the gardens.

The Christopher Schoelen will be playing jazz tunes from 11am to 1pm, followed by the diverse sounds of Birds of a Feather Sing Together, featuring vocal jazz, big band, country, and more, from 2pm to 3pm. And as a special treat, Naan Stop Kebap will serve their delicious naan wraps, shareables, and more as a special treat from 11am to 2pm.

Plus, select areas of Virginia’s House will be open for tours from 11am to 3pm, allowing you to indulge in activities like puzzles, board games, reading books, knitting, or crochet at your leisure. Feel free to bring a packed lunch to complete your relaxing day out.

And, our Teen Volunteer Anna will be on site with fun activities for kids (of all ages). Get creative with watercolors inspired by this beautiful story, and then enjoy a leisurely walk around our scenic grounds. It’s the perfect day to immerse yourself in art, nature, and the joy of discovery!

Music in the Gardens is a FREE event on the second Saturday of each month through October. Concerts are held on the 577 Outdoor Stage near the Dome. Whether it’s rain or shine, the show will go on. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move the music inside Virginia’s House. Seating is limited, we recommend bringing a blanket or chair for a cozy experience.

More Art in More Places, More Joy to More People

More Art in More Places, More Joy to More People

Inspired by conversations and creativity shared at the Ohio Arts Council’s Arts Impact Ohio conference, Executive Director Heather Gallant reflects on artist David Zinn’s playful work and the “fear of the blank canvas” many people experience when trying something new creatively. Through stories about art, process, and joy, Heather reminds us that creativity is less about perfection and more about curiosity, connection, and making space for wonder in everyday life.

Spend your Saturday at 577! Music in the Gardens returns June 13 with free live music and hands-on art activities.
