Music in the Gardens ~ Saturday, June 8

Join us for a delightful afternoon on Saturday, June 8, for Music in the Gardens! Let your worries melt away as you immerse yourself in the beautiful melodies drifting through the gardens.

TSA String Quartet will be playing classical tunes from 11am to 1pm, followed by the enchanting harp music of Rebecca Swett from 2pm to 3pm. And as a special treat, Swanky Scoops will be there with delicious ice cream! Plus, select areas of Virginia’s House will be open for tours and activities from 11am to 3pm.

Music in the Gardens is a FREE event taking place the second Saturday of each month through October. Concerts are held on the 577 Outdoor Stage near the Dome. Whether it’s rain or shine, the show will go on. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move the music inside Virginia’s House. Seating is limited, we recommend bringing a blanket or chair for a cozy experience.

Nature blesses us with incredible colors as the growing season progresses, from the cheerful stained glass faces of spring pansies to the jewel tones of late summer cosmos and the fiery hues of the autumn chrysanthemums. We are surrounded by color and, as creatures who appreciate beauty, we try to capture the intricacy and vibrance in our work. Learn how we are capturing their pigments on paper and fabric through the process of eco-printing.

Community Instructor Spotlight: Say Hello to The Pats!

Both local residents, Pat Piper and Pat Szymanowski have a passion for creativity and paper crafts. Pat and Pat delight in 577’s welcoming atmosphere, the fun and knowledgeable instructors, and the “wild but well-kept” nature of our gardens and grounds. They would like everyone to know that “It’s comfortable here. Come try it, you don’t have to be perfect. We all start somewhere.”

Mark your calendars! Join us for Music in the Gardens on Saturday, September 14, from 11am to 3pm. This free, family-friendly event welcomes everyone and will take place rain or shine.
