Winter Weather & Wellness Guidelines

Dec 9, 2025 | News & Updates

Your safety and well-being are important to us. If inclement weather comes our way, we’ll keep you informed about any closures or cancellations through our social media channels, as well as direct communication with class participants and meeting reservations. With snowy days in the forecast, here is a reminder of the 577 Winter Weather Policy:

Level One: If a Level One weather emergency is issued for Wood County, 577 is open as normal. Classes, meetings, and events will continue as planned. All visitors are urged to drive cautiously.

Please note we may have to close/cancel in real-time upon changing weather forecasts. If this occurs, we will post an update on our website, announce on social media, and contact all participants about the status of their class or meeting.

Level Two: If a Level Two weather emergency is issued for Wood County, 577 will close the grounds and cancel classes, meetings, and events until the weather emergency warnings are lifted or reduced to Level One, or until staff can safely plow our site. A notice will go out on all social media channels, the website, and to class participants if we are closed and/or classes and meetings are cancelled. A Level 2 snow emergency states that only necessary vehicles should be on area roadways.

Please Note: If Wood County is under a Level One or no snow emergency, but surrounding counties are Level Two and above, participants should contact us if they cannot make it to class safely and may request a refund or credit.

Level Three: If a Level Three weather emergency is issued for Wood County, 577 will close the grounds and cancel classes, meetings, and events until the weather emergency warnings are lifted or reduced to Level One, or until staff can safely plow our site. Please stay home, safe, and warm. A notice will go out on all social media channels, the website, and to class participants if we are closed and classes are cancelled. A Level 3 snow emergency states that no vehicles other than emergency service vehicles should be on the roads.

Please Note: If Wood County is under a Level One or no snow emergency, but surrounding counties are Level Two and above, participants should contact us if they cannot make it to class safely and may request a refund or credit.

Winter also brings seasonal illnesses. If you’re feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, we ask that you stay home and join us another time. If someone in your household is sick but you’re feeling well, please monitor yourself for symptoms and consider simple precautions—such as good hand hygiene or wearing a mask—especially in close-quarters settings like a class.

Thank you for helping us care for one another and keep our shared spaces safe, healthy, and welcoming for everyone.
