Join 577 in celebrating National Reuse Day on Friday, October 20!

Take pride in contributing to waste reduction by donating your gently used and like-new art supplies. Our creative team at 577 has compiled a list of essential items needed for upcoming classes, as well as the most sought-after items by our Curiosity Shop visitors. Your participation makes a meaningful impact in promoting sustainability.

Art Supplies Needed:

  • Wool felt
  • Cotton quilting fabrics, especially batiks
  • Linen fabrics for embroidery
  • Sewing supplies including thread, needles, and scissors
  • Irons
  • Felt ironing mats or ironing boards (tabletop only)
  • Rotary cutters
  • Self-healing cutting mats
  • Sewing notions
  • Yarn, especially in natural fibers
  • Embroidery hoops and floss
  • Fabric markers and paints
  • Embroidery transfer pens
  • Stencils and stamps for fabric
  • Macrame beads
  • Table looms
  • Jewelry findings, spacers, clasps, etc
  • Hot plate for dye projects
  • Watercolor paints of all kinds (pans, tubes, kids, all levels of quality welcome)
  • Watercolor paper of all kinds and sizes
  • Masking or painter’s tape

Donations can be conveniently dropped off between 10 am and 5 pm on October 20, with a limit of three bags or boxes per person. If you have something special to donate or a larger donation, please reach out to us by email at hello@577foundation.org or give us a call at 419-874-4174.

The Welcome Center & Curiosity Shop is the perfect place to unplug and explore thousands of gently-used books with selections for all ages and interests, a large selection of art supplies, handmade pottery, artwork from local creators, and more. New items are added to the shelves every day, and 577 staff is available to answer any questions on items available, upcoming classes, and more.

Donations of gently-used, like-new books, magazines, puzzles, games, and art supplies are accepted during open hours and accepted without an appointment. Due to space constraints, please limit book donations to 20 -25 books per visit. We do NOT accept damaged books that have broken bindings, missing pages, yellowed or soiled pages, or that smell of smoke, or mildew, or are excessively dirty or dusty; clearly outdated materials including, but not limited to: travel, legal, tax, medical, health books; broken or damaged art supplies, puzzles, and games.
