Join Our Team! 577 is growing and is thrilled to announce a new opportunity ~ AmeriCorps VISTA Garden Fellowship

This garden fellowship is intended to provide an in-depth opportunity for early-career horticulturists or environmentalists to develop skills and knowledge toward establishing themselves as a gardener and community educator.

This VISTA project will be designed to build upon the success of 577’s community gardening program by working in the gardens, teaching gardening classes, and creating program sustainability via the development of a trained volunteer base.

The VISTA member will work with staff members to recruit, train, and engage volunteers, as well as educate and activate community members and community gardeners, ultimately leading to increased production of organic food donations for local food banks fighting hunger.

Community Instructor Spotlight: Say Hello to The Pats!

Both local residents, Pat Piper and Pat Szymanowski have a passion for creativity and paper crafts. Pat and Pat delight in 577’s welcoming atmosphere, the fun and knowledgeable instructors, and the “wild but well-kept” nature of our gardens and grounds. They would like everyone to know that “It’s comfortable here. Come try it, you don’t have to be perfect. We all start somewhere.”

Mark your calendars! Join us for Music in the Gardens on Saturday, September 14, from 11am to 3pm. This free, family-friendly event welcomes everyone and will take place rain or shine.
