Join Our Team! 577 is growing and is thrilled to announce a new opportunity ~ AmeriCorps VISTA Garden Fellowship

This garden fellowship is intended to provide an in-depth opportunity for early-career horticulturists or environmentalists to develop skills and knowledge toward establishing themselves as a gardener and community educator.

This VISTA project will be designed to build upon the success of 577’s community gardening program by working in the gardens, teaching gardening classes, and creating program sustainability via the development of a trained volunteer base.

The VISTA member will work with staff members to recruit, train, and engage volunteers, as well as educate and activate community members and community gardeners, ultimately leading to increased production of organic food donations for local food banks fighting hunger.

Interested candidates must be available to work between 35 to 40 hours per week. General working hours are 9am to 5pm but may include occasional early morning or evening hours. Must be available to work any day of the week and for the duration of the fellowship: May 8, 2023 — May 7, 2024.

Salary is determined by VISTA and includes a base pay, housing allowance, professional development with a statewide cohort, health benefits, and sick leave.
